The lingering rift between Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the camp of the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has taken a new dimension as both are reportedly ready to banter at the Federal High Court, Abuja.
The suit was filed by a chieftain of the PDP, Chief Michael Newgent Ekamon, seeking to cancel the victory of Atiku and declare Wike as the rightful presidential candidate of the party.
The suit as marked FHC/ABJ/CS/782/2022 also Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Governor of Sokoto State, PDP and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), as respondents.
Daily Post noted a hearing notice, indicated that the matter has been slated for definite hearing by Justice Ahmed Ramat Mohammed.
According to sources giving in the publication, Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) whose identities are yet revealed have been hired by Wike, while Ayo Kamaldeen Ajibade, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, will lead the legal team of Atiku.
