The presidential campaign council list of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has ignited some forms of crisis.
It was reported that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party is not happy with the role given to them in the council.
A source stated that major positions in the council are led by loyalists of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the party.
The crisis is coming after Tinubu submitted the presidential campaign council list to the APC leadership this week.
It was further revealed that the meeting of the three-man committee of the party with the DG of the council, including the National Legal Adviser, the National Organising Secretary and Deputy Women Leader ended without resolve as the list is reportedly dominated by Tinubu’s loyalists.
The NWC of the party had requested the specific directorate according to the source.
Abdullahi Adamu, the National Chairman of the party had requested the inclusion of the following persons into the council.
“They are the two Deputy National Chairmen (North and South), National Secretary, National Organizing Secretary, Deputy National Organising Secretary, National Publicity Secretary, National Woman Leader, National Youth Leader, and the National Leader on People with Disabilities”, according to the source.
The NWC were shocked when they discovered at the meeting that the campaign council list was comprising most of Tinubu’s men.
Expectedly, the three-man harmonisation committee of the party on Monday would be meeting the DG of the council again.
