The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, is currently in a closed-door meeting with vice-chancellors of universities over the lingering strike of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
ASUU began the industrial action on Monday, February 14, 2022 over the failure of the federal government to meet demands of the union.
The meeting had in attendance the registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Professor Ishaq Oloyede; Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, Professor Abubakar Rasheed; Emeritus Professors Peter Okebukola and Nimi-Briggs.
Others in attendance include all vice-chancellors and pro-chancellors of federal universities.
The minister and stakeholders at the meeting would be hoping to resolve the lingering strike to allow students and lecturers to return to class.
