Reacting to the news making round the social media, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said he didn’t hire any clergy men to honour the unveiling of his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima.
As it were all over the social media, some men widely identified as men and women of God were in attendance at the unveiling ceremony on Wednesday in Abuja.
It was believed that the people were paid to act as christian clerics to attend the ceremony.
However, Asiwaju Tinubu has refuted the allegations in a statement.
According to him, all Nigerians were openly invited, inclusive of clerics
“We want to say that those clergymen were not fake as the purveyors of hatred have made Nigerians to believe in the social media.”
It was further said that the christian clerics who attended the unveiling are from churches that are yet grown like others in the country, the statement further explained.
The statement expressed disappointment at critics for making untrue information about Tinubu and the ruling party.
It also chid opposition parties for making untrue stories and spreading such on the media.
