Breaking: Nigeria Crash Out From Women AFCON On Penalties Against Morocco

Nigeria’s bid for their 10th Women AFCON title was stopped by the Lionesses of Morocco.

It was indeed a game of two super teams with so much tense on both sides.

The semi final fixture between these teams saw two red cards against Nigeria’s top players; Kanu and Ajibade.

However, the 9 Super Falcons refused to be eaten by the Lionesses of Morocco as the game went into extra time and penalty shootout subsequently after 1-1 after normal time.

Nigeria lost the game to the 2022 edition host on 5 – 4 penalty scoreline as Morocco now proceed to meet South Africa in the final.

Though, the last 4 teams of the competition inclusive of Nigeria, Zambia, South Africa, and Morocco have already qualified for the 2023 Women World Cup.
