Just In: Abuja High Court Sacks Oborevwori Guber Candidacy, Orders Fresh Primary

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has nullified the primary election that made Sheriff Oborevwori as the gubernatorial flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Delta State for the 2023 general elections.

According to Sahara Reports, the court on Thursday sacked Oborevwori with emphasis on the discrepancies of certificates. It ordered the party to conduct a fresh primary before the final date of change of candidates.

It was further noted that the Electoral Act does not permit the runner-up to automatically become the candidate.

After the rule, Fejiro Oliver, a journalist familiar with the development, said: “Sheriff Oborowheri has been disqualified by the Federal High Court on certificate issues. PDP has been asked to conduct a new primary before the final date of change of candidates

Let’s watch as matters unfold in the forthcoming days to see if Governor Okowa would throw the case to the wind for a fresh primary, and work with James Manager to actualize the Ijaw agenda as he would never want to allow Edebvie succeed him, or would proceed to Appeal Court.
