“It was the Brazilian Professor and sociologist, Fernando Cardoso who said, “Democracy is not just a question of having a vote. It consists of strengthening each citizen’s possibility and capacity to participate in the deliberations involved in life in society.”
Assuredly, democracy works when the people are effectively engaged. Consequently, as part of my people’s first legislative operation framework, on Saturday (June 4, 2022) I played host to all Warri South-West LGA statutory delegates, stakeholders, councilors, and leaders of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in a thank you/get-together meeting.
The occasion was to acknowledge and salute the delegates and all members of our party for all their support and prayers which led to my emergence as the party’s Delta State House of Assembly flagbearer/candidate for Warri South-West State Constituency following the successful primaries conducted on the 22nd of May 2022. I also use the opportunity to commend the Chief Favour Izuokumor-led (PDP LGA Chairman) executives of the party for the unity of purpose and oneness among members of the party and the incredible work of the leadership to ensure progress together is possible for the party.
Following, on Sunday (June 5, 2022), I and members of my family and political associates appeared before the majority of one, the one from whom all blessings come at the RCCG Redemption Hall Mega Parish, Airport Road, Effurun, Delta State to give him thanks for good health and favours before, during and after the primaries.
All I can say is that God has been faithful and I am grateful for every mile accomplished. The future even holds greater prospects. IT IS A GOOD THING TO GIVE THANKS. Thanksgiving and gratitude is my mode this week. I hope you have one too”, the statement ended.
