His Eminence, Samuel Kanu-Uche, the Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, who was kidnapped by gunmen, stated the criminal elements were angry with President Muhammadu Buhari.
The cleric disclosed that they are Fulani boys during a news conference in Lagos on Tuesday, after the kidnappers showed him decomposing bodies of previous victims.
He claimed the assailants threatened to chew President Muhammadu Buhari if he fell into their hands, claiming Buhari had disappointed them.
“They even threatened that if they get Buhari, they’ll chew him up since he’s disappointed them,” he claimed.
“We were led into the bush and made a 15-kilometer hike.” They finally suggested we negotiate at 11 p.m.
The men then placed the ransom at N100 million, Kanu-Uche stated.
The clergyman informed reporters that he went out to church leaders and his wife to seek money in every way possible to ensure his release.
According to DAILY REPORT, Kanu-Uche was abducted on his way to the airport on Sunday along the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway in the Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.
