Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court (FHC) in Abuja on Tuesday granted bail to a presidential aspirant and former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha.
Reports gathered that Okorocha, a top member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), was granted bail in the sum of N500 million and a surety in like sum.
He had been charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) before the court following his alleged complicity in a N2.9 billion fraud.
Justice Ekwo ordered that the surety must be a responsible citizen who has landed property in the like sum of the bail granted Okorocha.
Also, Justice Ekwo barred the Senator from traveling out of Nigeria except with the express permission of the court.
Meanwhile, Okorocha is expected to remain in the custody of the EFCC until his bail terms are met.
