Breaking: APC Reverses Earlier Decision, Fixes Date for National Convention

The Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has reversed its earlier decision to hold zonal congresses of the party on March 25.

The Governor Mai Buni-led convention planning committee, had Monday afternoon, written to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), announcing that the party would not go ahead with the planned national convention of February 26.

It rather stated that zonal congresses of the party are now billed to hold on Saturday, March 26, 2022.

A series of meetings behind close-door since 11am on Monday had been held by the party leadership.

The National Secretary of the party, John James Akpanudoedehe, announcing the latest happening to newsmen after the closed-door meeting, said the preparation for the national convention will commence on 24 of March, 2022, while the zonal congresses will hold before the national convention slated for 26 of March, 2022.
