Breaking: Senegal Clinch Their First Ever AFCON On 4:2 Penalty Shootout Against Egypt

Senegal have now joined countries that have won the African Cup of Nations, AFCON after defeating seven time winners of the tournament, Egypt on penalty shootout.

Liverpool forward, Sadio Mane missed a spot kick as early as five minutes of play in the first half.

It was indeed a battle of the Titans as the final match of the AFCON hosted by Cameroon 2021 went into extra time after stoppage time of normal 90 minutes.

Mohammed Sallah’s Egypt lost on a 4:2 penalty scoreline, making Senegal to win their first ever AFCON after many years of participation in the competition with Mane scoring the winning spot kick for Senegal.

Meanwhile, the significant efforts of both goalkeepers cannot be swept under the carpet as they made several saves to keep their teams much in play.
