Today, football lovers; players, coaches, sports pundits, directors, club owners, and fans across the globe converged at Gala Chatelet Theatre in Paris, the Capital City of France to watch the greatest footballer being crowned with the awarding of the prestigious Ballon D’Or.

The award, presented by French magazine France Football, is one of the game’s most revered individual prizes and was not awarded last season because of Covid-19 pandemic that disrupted the football calendar.

Prior to that, in 2019, Lionel Messi claimed his sixth trophy and the Argentine has now won it for the seventh time at the end of a tumultuous year in which he left Barcelona to join PSG.

With smile, Messi appreciated his club and national team mates for their contributions to him winning the award at Paris in France
