Rt. Hon. Godknows Angele, the Executive Chairman of Burutu Local Government Area received in his office the honourable minister for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental affairs.

The honourable minister, Sen. George Akume was represented by Engr. Kayode Adebayor, on an inspection and documentation of projects and programmes tour across the 774 local government areas of the federation.

Angele in his remarks, welcomed the honourable minister and his entourage. He noted that Burutu LGA is one of the oldest local government areas in Nigeria which was created in 1976. Furthermore, Angele drew the federal government’s attention to the fact that only Burutu LGA out of the 25 local governments in Delta State is yet to be connected to the national grid and that they should take action in this regard as the council spends over six million naira monthly in buying diesel to power the town of Burutu.

In addition, the council boss listed legacy projects and achievements of his government as a council chairman despite the constraints in generating revenue internally due to the terrain.

The honourable minister in his response, thanked the executive chairman for the warm reception and for all of the human capital development projects he has initiated and completed in the local government area.
