The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has broken the silence on the defection of former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Fani-Kayode finally dumped the umbrella party, PDP for the broom, APC on Thursday in the heat of several criticism.

But PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbodinyan, in an interview with BBC Pidgin on Friday said the PDP knew the kind of person the former Aviation Minister is.

According to him, “the former Aviation Minister’s defection to the ruling party, APC is a display of how uncommitted he was to the PDP.”

The publicity secretary noted that only commitment to the party would make it to grow.

He added that “the PDP wishes him well in his new home.”

Many Nigerians received Fani-Kayode’s defection in extreme shock with mixed feelings. Some expressed surprise that he left the party after he boasted that he would rather die than to go to APC.
