Imo State residents in their numbers have gathered at the Sam Mbakwe airport to receive President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday.
The President is set to commission several projects initiated and completed by the Hope Uzodinma-led government of Imo State.
The President’s visit has staired great happiness from the people of the state. It can be recalled that a group, Igbo youths worldwide vowed to troop out in their numbers to welcome the president to the state.
This was made known in a statement signed by Onwuasoanya Jones Deputy National Leader Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Youth Wing on Wednesday.
It’s worthy of note that the President’s visit to Imo is his first working visit to the State since his assumption into office in 2015 and the first time the State is hosting a President on working visit since 2009.
Onwuasoanya warned that anyone trying to disrupt the visit and harass those who would want to participate in welcoming the President to Imo state would be treated as invaders and not someone representing the Igbo interest.
