There was commotion in Tuomo community in Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State as community election reported bloody.
The incident happened when the intended community election billed to hold on Monday 16 August, was allegedly disrupted by the expelled community chairman, Mr Binebai Tomke at around 1:pm Nigerian time.
According to the source, Mr Binebai-led community executives were earlier sacked by the Okpokunou Magistrate Court in Burutu LGA Government Area on the 19th July, 2021.
As further learnt, trouble began when the allegedly sacked community chairman invaded the election arena and began to beat up people and injured many.
The source further revealed that the traditional prime minister of Tuomo kingdom, Chief Mike Loyibo narrowly escaped abduction as several of his boys were wounded.
When contacted, the acting Delta State Police Command’s PPRO, DSP Bright Edafe said there was no issue as regards exchange of gunshot, and abduction of anybody in Burutu LGA at of yesterday.
He related more that some persons tried to disrupt the peaceful Tuomo community on Monday but the police were able to resist such attempts.
