Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of the House of Representatives has said that Nigeria is still in big security mess under President Muhammadu Buhari.
The speaker, Gbajabiamila stated this while briefing the press on Friday after paying Salalah respect to the Nigerian President in Daura.
He noted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government under Buhari met“some difficulties on ground.”
Femi further noted that
the APC came into power amidst these challenges but promised to curb insecurity, corruption and pursue economic growth for the country, but “security is still terrible.”
The statement reads, “We came on the mantra of security, anti-corruption and economy and if you want to be objective we are not where we were.
“The security is still very terrible. But Boko Haram has been decimated. Their leader has been killed, those who foment trouble have been arrested,” he said.
The speaker blamed past administrations for the country’s problems. He argued that the APC’s government inherited some difficulties which they are seriously working to overcome.
“I think we are on course. It is difficult, don’t get me wrong, we met some difficulties on ground and we are working and building slowly and surely,” Gbajabiamila said.
We need not to joke with the security of lives of the Nigerian citizenry. It’s of no essence if at this point we still smile in continuous pains.
While the government of the day is imploring all available measures and mechanisms to curb the security menace in the country, we as the citizens owe committed leaders in this fight to overcome insurgency and other forms of insecurity.
