Mr. Anthony Miens Demebide, one courageous Niger Delta activist and social media influencer has heartily congratulated Rt. Hon. Julius pondi, member representing Burutu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Asupa Peter Forteta, member representing Burutu North Constituency, and Hon. Pullah Ekpotuayerin, member representing Burutu South Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly respectively for their successful run of two years in the representative business.

Though, Hon. Julius pondi is in his second term in the Federal House of Representatives, while Hon. Asupa Peter Forteta and Hon. Pullah Ekpotuayerin have spent two years in their first term.

Demebide appreciated these respected representatives in his statement sent to Thepeoplesvoicengr that they stood by their constituents during the trying moments of Covid-19 pandemic that ravaged the entire world, during the floods, and their show of love in the Yuletide seasons in these years.

The statement reads in parts; “I appreciate Rt. Hon. Julius pondi, Hon. Asupa Peter Forteta, and Hon. Pullah Ekpotuayerin for their show of committed care and support in the form of palliative to their constituents in the course of the Covid-19 that brought untold pains and sorrows, during the floods that brought suffering and discomfort to the people, and the Yuletide seasons in these years of servitude to the Burutu LGA”.

Anthony implored the law-makers to be proactive at all times in the Legislatures. He charged them to prioritize and influence projects to their constituency which is the core call of political service to the people.

Other parts of the statement read, “The LGA needs infrastructural development, and as such the representatives can collectively and individually influence federal and state government projects to the local government.

“As for the Ayakoromo bridge project which has not recorded good progress for over six yesrs should also be a concern to the legislators. They should prevail on Senator Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, the Executive Governor of Delta State to complete this important project that will link up communities in four LGAs in the state economically”.

In furtherance, reminiscing the relentless contributions and efforts of the electorates for these elected officials during the campaigns and elections, Anthony said that these people (electorates) deserve empowerment in any forms, just like the say that, “A worker deserves his wages”.

“The contributions of the electorates during the electioneering campaigns, and the main elections should not be undermined. We know that appointment cannot go round to everybody but to a large extent, empowerment in different measures for the constituents can go a long way to allay the already conception of being used and dumped. I remember how some supporters almost died in accidents during the campaigns.

While they celebrate their two years in the representative business, I long for them in prayers to succeed in their commitment to the electioneering campaign promises with God’s protection and wisdom, congratulations to them”, he concluded.
