Following the death of the 20th Olu of Itsekiri Kingdom, the kingdom has been experiencing one factional problem or the other to the traditional installation of another Olu.
The recent call to reverse the coronation of the Olu-Designate has attracted many reactions from around Itsekiri Nation.
In same vein, the Itsekiri Nation has responded to the call by one of its prominent leaders, and Board Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) on his call to reverse the coronation of Prince Emiko as Olu-Designate or face untold calamity.
Hon. Michael Diden, popularly known as Ejele stated that the Itsekiri nation must calloff the proposed coronation of Olu-designate, Prince Tsola Emiko or be ready to face untold calamity, on the grounds of illegality and abnormalities in the kingdom.
The Itsekiri Kingdom has written to disregard the call made by Diden who spoke during a brief chat with newsmen, tagging such statement as deliberate effort to cause disunity and uproar in the kingdom.
The kingdom has pressed further that all sons and daughters should disregard the position of the man of God, that tradition and christianity are not same. He should therefore focus on his call to serve God.
The official statement as captured by the ITSEKIRI REPORTERS as counter statement also alleged that the respected leader wants to contest the Delta South Senatorial seat, and as such has decided to cause disunity among the Itsekiri people to favour him in the 2023 elections.
