Breaking News: Delta Former Governor Loot Of £4.2m Returned To State

Accountant General of the Federation, Mr. Ahmed Idris has just confirmed that the so much talked about £4.2m looted by Chief James Ibori, former governor of Delta State recently repatriated by the Federal Government from the United Kingdom has been returned to Delta.

Idris who on Tuesday appeared before the House of Reps’ Adhoc Committee on Assessment and Status of all recovered loots, Movable and Immovable Assets from 2002 to 2020 by Agencies of the Federal Government of Nigeria for Effective Efficient Management and Utilization, disclosed the development.

According to the Accountant-General who in his session with the committee said that such funds looted from the treasury of a state are always returned to the state in question.

In addition, Idris also said that states can sue the Federal Government to recover such funds.
