According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, the Kwara State immediate past governor has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The commission arrested the ex-governor for questioning.
The commission’s spokesperson, Mr Wilson Uwujaren on Monday in an SMS noted this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The spokesman didn’t give give further information on reasons for the invitational arrest.
Notably, Ahmed governed Kwara State from 2011 to 2019.
However, Ahmed was in December 2020, invited by the EFCC to shed light on specific transactions and decisions he made while his governorship days lasted.
This is making the second count the EFCC would be inviting him since he left office.
