IPDI Pays Courtesy Visit To Bayelsa Labour Commissioner, Discuss Issues Of Ijaw Interest

The Ijaw People’s Development Initiative (IPDI) paid a courtesy visit to the Bayelsa State Commissioner for Labour, Employment & Productivity, Hon. Braboke Stanley Enaigbagha yesterday in his office.The IPDI delegation was led by its president and SA to the Delta State Governor on Political Matters, Senior Comrade Austin Ozobo.In

progression, the honorable Commissioner for Labour with utmost cheerfulness welcomed the delegation, noting how much the Ozobo-led IPDI has done for the advancement of the Ijaw course.Of course, the visit wouldn’t have been successful without the elaborate discourse of vital issues as regard protecting the Ijaw cultural identity and promoting peace in Ijaw land as the bedrock for wholesome and sustainable development.The present security challenges of our nation is worrisome, therefore regional security intelligence and other forms to checkmate the worsening situation should take priority in government schemes in the South South region, and Ijaw land in particular.

In the course of deliberations, Hon. Braboke Stanley Enaigbagha acknowledged that the Bayelsa State Government has imbibed measures to curb the insecurity menace and other social vices in the state.Braboke further called for collaboration of security agencies and individuals on the essentialism to fight insecurity. This also solicits the reporting of suspicious movements and persons to appropriate authorities.

Meanwhile, Ozobo used the avenue to also call on the Commissioner for Information and the Bayelsa State government through the honorable Commissioner for Labour, Employment and Productivity to adopt Ijaw-owned newspapers to tell the indigenous stories of the Ijaw nation.The IPDI delegation appreciated Hon. Braboke Stanley for welcoming them; his open mindedness and always supporting what is good for the state and Ijaw nation at large, therefore prayed God to take him higher, and the Governor Diri-led Bayelsa State to an enviable height.
