Justice Sylvester Nwali Ngwuta of the Supreme Court has died, less than four weeks to his retirement.
Sources confirmed this ugly incident, stating that he died in his sleep at his official residence in Abuja at about 2:00am on Sunday.
Justice Ngwuta was getting set for his retirement from the Supreme Court on March 30, 2021 upon attainment of 70 years mandatory retirement age.
He fell sick and was admitted in the last one week in the National Hospital, Abuja, but he tested positive to Covid-19 before he was moved to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital on Friday March 5.
Justice Ngwuta was due to retire from the Supreme Court bench on attaining mandatory retirement age of 70 years on March 30, 2021.
According to the source, his remains has been deposited in the National Hospital mortuary pending arrangement for his burial.
