Gunmen have stormed a government secondary school in Jangebe, Zamfara State, abducting students in their numbers.
The school which is situated within the Talata-Mafara Local Government Area of the state came under attack at past midnight.
Confirming the ugly incident, the state Commissioner for Information, Hon. Suleiman Tunau Anka said the gunmen stormed the school at around 1 a.m on Friday and abducted scores of students.
However, the commissioner for information did not confirm the number of students were abducted.
The Zamfara State Police are yet to make a statement concerning the incident at the time of this report.
The recent abduction in Zamfara comes at a time when banditry is increasingly threatening the peace of the nation, especially from within the northeastern and northwestern regions of Nigeria.
