ATECO 2021: Tamokunou FC Emerges Winner Of The Finals

The just concluded football tournament has many good testimonials. The football competition was organised by the Ayakoromo Town Electoral Commission, ATECO chairmaned by Mr. John Ambrose and the 2021 edition was sponsored by Evang. Prosper Owei.

The golden prize, which is the trophy was contested for by the four quarters of the community but arguments ensued as to where some players would play and not, and premised on the above Assessaghabiri FC was disqualified and was replaced by Bobougbene sub-community.

First and second leg fixtures were played between the four teams but Akubiri and Tamokunou teams locked horns at the finals, with Tamokunou emerging the winners through a penalty shootout after a goalless draw of 90 minutes battle for the lion prize. Meanwhile, Emekpo FC won the third place march.


While speaking to Thepeoplesvoicengr, Ebipade Zipamoh, captain of the Tamokunou FC and other sports enthusiasts expressed joy and satisfaction over the large turnout of fans at every fixture, and their comportment throughout the tournament, giving glory to God Almighty for the success.

The organisers of this inter-quarters football competition, ATECO also made known their happiness for a record-breaking competition. They send their unreserved appreciation to Evang. Prosper Owei for his heartwarming sponsorship of the 2021 edition which was also massively attended by several dignitaries.

When further interviewed about the next edition, the leadership of ATECO expressed optimism of a more organised and greater 2022 edition with plans already rolled out to achieve the desired result.
