Covid-19: Manchester City Forward, Aguero Tests Positive

The Manchester City striker, Sergio Aguero has been struggling since he sustained knee injury towards the end of last season, and for this singular reason he has not been able to put together a string of successive appearances for Man. City.

The Argentine forward confirmed on social media that he has contacted the infection on Thursday 21st January, 2021. This latest set back means the Argentine could be laid off for two games more.

Reports had it that, Aguero came into close contact with someone a few weeks ago, who was said to be a member of his immediate family who had tested positive for Covid-19. In line with Covid-19 guidelines, Aguero is to be placed under medical surveillance until subsequent test proves negative.

Aguero twitted on Thursday afternoon,
“After a close contact, I’ve been self-isolating and the latest test I took was positive for COVID 19. I had some symptoms and I’m following doctor’s orders for recovery. Take care, everyone !”

In strict compliance of the government guidelines for isolation Sergio Aguero will be out of action for at least 10 days, this means he will miss the FA Cup fourth round tie with Cheltenham Town, and the fixtures against West Brom and Sheffield United in the English Premier League.
