……Ronaldo and Morata gave Juventus the Victory
Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus has now won the Suppercoppa Italiana for nine times since the start of the competition. The Juventus FC’s forward has been significant since he joined Serie A champions from the Laliga giants, Real Madrid.
The first half was wrapped in intense heat as both teams perfectly headed for lead but it ended goalless after 45 minutes.
Cristiano Ronaldo gave Juventus the lead with a record-breaking 760th goal of his football career at the 64th minute of play. It was not an easy knockoff for both clubs.
Meanwhile, Napoli could have equalised from the spot with Mckennie’s clumsy foul but Insigne missed the golden chance to cancel Juventus’ lead. Napoli dwindled from the tempo after the spot-kick miss.
However, Lozano almost scored with his stoppage time effort but Szczesny made a sensational and crucial save to keep the lead for his side.
Moments later, Napoli lost it all as Cuadrado outpaced opponent to set up Morata for the second goal of the night at the 90+5 minute. The central referee whistled to end the contest at the 90+6 minute as Juventus FC clinched the trophy.
In their next March, Juventus shall be welcoming Bologna on Sunday 24th January, 2021 in the Serie A at about 12:30pm.
