It was a day of unforetold melancholy, a day marked with unending tears as Itung Ibill Nkum of Ogoja Local Government Area in Cross River State was thronged into mourning by the death of three siblings. The people of Itung Ibill Nkum were plunged into uncontrollable wailing by this undreamt bereavement.
As eyewitness’ report would have it. Three siblings, a girl and her two brothers went to the Ogoja River to bathe to cool off from the heat, but the unexpected happened when they swam beyond the shallow part of the river. Before people knew what was happening, they had drowned, only to be dived ashore but already dead.
It is indeed a big shock and an unpleasant tale of an incident in the family of the bereaved and the entire Itung Ibill Nkum land.
May God Almighty give the family and friends the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
