major advocate of the trending Stingy Men Association of Nigeria, Obiri Jonathan has called for an immediate review of the name of the group.
Speaking with the peoplesvoicengr, Obiri asserted that his support for the Stingy Men Association movement was triggered by the need to curtail unnecessary spending, the need to develop a vision driven lifestyle as well as to champion entrepreneurial spirit among youths in Nigeria especially in the Niger Delta region.
“The underlying principle is not insensitivity to the needs of others even when there is capacity to lend a helping hand. The objective is to encourage the art of saving money and making productive investments as we begin a new year. I am neither a miser nor a penny-pincher and my intent is not to encourage people to develop such lifestyle. My advocacy is premised on the need for our teeming youths to embrace entrepreneurship, accountability, self discipline and a goal driven lifestyle.” He stated.
“As a beneficiary of generosity and as a loyal disciple of Chief Ekomieyefa Uduboh (The King of KFT) who is an embodiment of generosity, I shall never discountenance the virtues of generosity and philanthropy. I sleep with generosity and I wake up with generosity so why should I jettison same.” He added.
“I therefore appeal to the members of the trending Stingy Men Association to review the name to reflect the philosophical orientations of the moment vis-a-vis prudent financial management, entrepreneurial advancement and goal driven lifestyle.” He concluded.
