All ethnic groups across the Nigerian society have their annual festival celebrations in connection to mark one historic date or event. Some come at the end of each year while others celebrate theirs at the beginning of each year.
The ancient Amafini Festival is associated with the Ogbe-Ijoh-Warri kingdom, the Ogbe-Ijoh community precisely. It’s officially stipulated to commence tomorrow Friday 8th through Saturday 9th January, 2021 at Ogbe-Ijoh Town in Warri Southwest LGA of Delta State, Nigeria.
This festival is celebrated at the beginning of each year with the intention to open up the town for blessings of all kinds. Therefore, the 2021 edition makes the count of 1001 in consession.
Meanwhile, this 2021 edition would have in attendance top government officials across the nation as Gov. Douye Diri, and Gov. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, the executive governors of Bayelsa and Delta states respectively have concluded plans to grace this most celebrated festival. Other innumerable dignitaries to attend this epoch making traditional event in the Warri Southwest LGA headquarters, Ogbe-Ijoh.
With all arrangements in place, the festival will also feature the following:
