Alleged Sexual Assault: Deeper Life High School Staff To Be Arraigned Tomorrow

Recently, a video hit every wall of the social media, Facebook and Twitter alike. The video has attracted much public attention and outcry for justice for a sexually abused 11 year old student of Deeper Life High School, Uyo campus.

Deborah Archibong, the victim’s mother alleged that her son was sexually assaulted by senior students when he was changed from his former dormitory to another, mainly occupied by senior students. In her words in a video that went viral on social media, “they will remove his boxer and push their legs and hands into his anus”, “look at a child I sent to school, he came back with a broken anus”, she included.

Furthermore, Mrs Archibong also alleged that her 11 year old son was always starved and beaten by senior students.

Andrew Amiengheme, the Commissioner of Police summoned a meeting between the school officials at the command’s headquarters in the state, got some staff detained after the meeting.

Meanwhile, David Okokon, the lawyer to the parents of the assaulted said today being Wednesday 6th January, 2021, he would be in court for the arraignment today. “They (the police) are arraigning those people found culpable this morning, said Mr. Okokon.

The investigation of the police is unknown as regard the offences and charges to be filed against the school and its staff. The intention to arraign the officials was further confirmed by Odiko MacDon, the police spokesperson.

The spokesperson of the police, Odiko MacDon also confirmed the arrest and detention of some officials of the school after attending a meeting with the CP. “They will be arraigned tomorrow”, he concluded.
